We offer training in both individual sports and team sports as well as the opportunity for members to join our sports teams and compete in matches at weekends.

Training classes are held at our club facility with practice sessions and matches taking place at local courts and pitches.

INDIVIDUAL SPORTS TRAINING

Our individual sports training sessions are designed to help members learn about the specific sports we train, as well as develop their fitness in areas that are relevant to other sports too.

Hour long classes designed to help you learn about and practice a range of gymnastic movements including handstands, push ups, pull ups, core work, beam work and basic floor work. From time to time we book a local gymnastics hall to give people a chance to train on equipment such as parallel bars, trampolines, etc

Use these classes to get better at gymnastics, or as a way to work on your general flexibility and core strength.

A one hour class designed to give you an opportunity to learn and practice a range of boxing techniques and exercises including stance, footwork, punching, defence and putting it all together.

Relevant to those wanting to try out boxing and learn about it as a sport, as well as those looking to use boxing as a way to improve their overall fitness, strength and agility.

One hour classes that use the club training facility, together with local running routes and nearby parks. These classes are designed to work on various elements of athletics training such as sprinting, middle distance running, jumping and throwing disciplines.  From time to time we visit a local athletics track and field venue in order to practice javelin, shot put, long jump and high jump.

Relevant to anyone interested in learning more about athletics or who is looking to use athletics training as a way to improve their levels of speed and stamina.

Team Sports Training

Join a Hollow Rocks team!  All levels welcome from beginners through to intermediate. Specialist team sports training and matches take place at nearby partner facilities. Members should meet at the club 15 minutes before the session (we will jog to the pitch or court together as part of the warm up).

We have three sessions each week dedicated to football for adults

Football skills & drills: A one hour session held at the club that utilises drills, training exercises and techniques from football. Expect to work on your ball control, passing, movement, shooting, etc.

Football practice: A one hour session on the pitch at our partner facility (5 minutes from the club), Expect to work on your dribbling, shooting, heading, marking, throwing, free kicks, corners, etc

Football matches: A match each week where we split into men’s and women’s teams and members have a chance to put it all together and play against each other.

No previous knowledge of football is required for skills & drills or football practice, but some previous experience is necessary for the weekend matches. Ask a coach for details.

Basketball skills & drills: A one hour session that utilises drills, training exercises, and techniques from basketball. Expect to work on your footwork, passing, shooting, dribbling, and rebounding.

Basketball practice: A one hour session on the court at our partner facility (5 minutes from the club). Expect to work on your footwork, passing, dribbling, shooting, free throws, etc

Basketball games: A game each week where we split into men’s and women’s teams and members have a chance to put it all together and play against each other.
